The colony of Xanadu was the last publicly founded colony (see Isobelle for details on the last colony). EarthGov’s infamous Bureau of Relocation was too busy dealing with the wild near-catastrophic conditions it created on Dayan (alternately saving the colony and then dumping more ill-prepared street people on it) to bother with Xanadu. These two colonies were founded by multiple Colony Torch ships (Nine in the case of Xanadu) while Dayan gladly accepted Eden Colony rejects, down-on-their-luck asteroid miners, criminals, and anybody who didn’t feel like they fit in, Xanadu was funded by several Far Eastern Earth governments and could afford to be pickier. These governments were most displeased when their careful colonization efforts were superceded by the Bureau of Relocation’s desperate need to ship malcontents to another (preferably distant) world. They successfully appealed the ruling in 2190 and, in a landmark decision before EarthGov’s highest court, were awarded massive compensation and the dismantling of the infamous Bureau of Relocation.
Epsilon Indi is a yellow star with one rocky planet, two large asteroid belts, and four gas giants. Xanadu is the second planet from the star.
